Of course it won't snow, I told the wife, after I convinced her to go caravanning for a few days just before Christmas. Well how was I to know? And who would have expected, that mega star of stage and screen, Sir Bob Carolgees and Spit the dog to also be caravanning at the beautiful Caravan Club Rowntree Park Site, York. Bob is a regular at this site, spending a few days here most Christmas's, before jetting of to his other home in Beverley Hills. You have to remember to book well in advance, as even despite the weather, the site was fully booked, many caravanners staying there right over the festive period. But what an excellent place to spend Christmas, quipped Bob, what with the very centre of York only being five minutes walk away. And what better or more Christmassy place is there to do your last minute Christmas shopping.

Look who we bumped into in Betty's Tea Rooms, Anna Nicole Smith! I told her she needed to cover up her shoulders, as she'd catch her death in such weather, but the little minx wouldn't listen. She couldn't resist coming to look at our caravan, as it was a hobby of both her and her late multi millionaire husband, and they regularly toured the coast of Lincolnshire in their ABI Dawnstar. In fact, the sight of the Caravan Club sites facilities brought a tear to Anna's eye, "It's just how I always remember them," drawled Anna, tenderly fingering a dishcloth placed by the sinks to allow you to wipe the basin after use, "absolutely spotless!" I could see little Anna was upset so I left her to her thoughts and memories of her happy times caravanning on Caravan Club Sites.

" I'm free," chirruped John Inman, here just taking a little measurement to see how deep the snow was. He'd just been feeding the ducks in the Park, which this site is part of, before he took a leisurely stroll along the riverside into York city centre. Smart thinker John had taken the precaution of lagging his aquaroll, anticipating the winter weather.

Our final guest was pop heavy weight, Rik Waller, who had been promoting his latest single in York's shopping centre before returning to his caravan. He is a regular at Rowntree Park, enjoying the spacious, well screened pitches on this site. We had to stop him nibbling on the chocolate baubles adorning the caravan's Christmas tree, persuading him that they were their for the kids. However, he was very interested in following our recommendation of visiting the nearby Weatherspoon's pub where he could buy two meals for a fiver, and a pint could be purchased for below £2. Bonne appetite Rik!
